Hello everyone...

My name is Morgan Ferriter, I live in Donegal, Ireland. I have had quite a bit of contact with other Ferriters and relatives of Ferriters over the last few years through my own website, so out of curiosity, I checked to see if there was a Ferriter Blog on the web. There wasnt, so I have just created this one so anyone interested can type a few lines and let us know who you are and where you are . I also have a fair amount of history associated with the Ferriter name collected.

"All-Ferriter Family Gathering" to be held in Wisconsin, U.S.A., during the summer of 2009 to be phased with the annual Doylestown WI Picnic, and the Milwaukee WI, Irishfest. Main organiser; Mr. George Ferriter. More to follow....

Other breaking news...latest member of the Ferriter family born today, Drogheda, Ireland. Baby boy...Congratulations Eoin & Louise Ferriter (my brother & sister in law)

Hi,

Morgan, This is great! For everyone's understanding my name is George Ferriter, (Seoirse Feirtear), and I am the person who will be hosting the All Ferriter Family Gathering in Wisconsin, U.S.A., during August 2009, (FFG2009). I will follow this comment with details and news regarding the Gathering, and other family information.

Thanks!

My name is Karina Feirtéar and I was born and bread in Ballyferriter. I am currentlly living in the west cost of Galway and working in Ireland's irish language channel TG4 as a graphic artist.
It will be nice to get in contact with other ferriters from around the globe! I until recently didnt realise how many Ferriters exist around the world!

Failte romhat isteach Karina! Tá mé ag súil go mór leis an turas freisin, looking forward to meeting all the Ferriters and hopefully will meet plenty here in the mean time. Hows the art? An bhfuil taispeantais ar siúl agat faoi lathair?

Brón orm Morgan, ní rabhas ar an suíomh le fada an lá. Táim an ghnóthach le tamall ag an obair, so níl mórán obair ealaíne(pearsanta!) déanta agam..thréis an samhradh le cúnamh dé. Táim ag déanamh staidéar ar an mhúinteoireacht na laethanta seo leis..an bhusy!!!

Dia dhaoibh Morgan, Seoirse & mo chol ceathar Karina...

My mum has loads of Karina's father's paintings hanging at home in Galway so the art talent is obviously in the blood!

Anyway - just after stumbling on this site via the 'FFG2009' group on facebook so will stay tuned...

Interesting news! I had not realized that Karina's father was an artist also. Yes, artistic talent is a family blessing! Is there any imagery of his work? I will post a photo of one of my Aunt Clare Ferriter's oils later today.

It sure is nice to have talent in the family! It's invigorating to reread this and realize who my cousins are and all the gifts they have been blessed with. Cannot wait to meet more of you! Maggie Ferriter Campbell MD
